Fabric security: everything you need to know!

Learn how Microsoft Fabric makes sure your data is secure. Did you know for example that all data is encrypted by default? Or that you can configure MFA for all your users? Fabric offers many of these possibilities and more out of the box without most of us knowing! In this session you will learn everything to convince your security team
Microsoft Fabric is an all-in-one analytics solution for enterprises that covers everything from data movement to data science, Real-Time Analytics, and business intelligence. It offers a comprehensive suite of services, including data lake, data engineering, and data integration, all in one place.

Microsoft Fabric is a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform which works differently than a PaaS (Platform as a Service) like Azure. With the Fabric SaaS service, you are getting a lot of security features out of the box that you might now be aware of to allow you to secure your data estate.

In this session we will look at how Fabric secures your data, we will look at all the aspects of security of the Fabric platform:
- Understand how users authenticate.
- How to leverage Entra ID (AAD) security to add additional security.
- Where and how is your data stored and where does it go when used?
- How can you access your secure data stored in Azure.
- How to make sure your data is only accessible for certain users.
- Finally, how to govern your data with MIP and Purview integration

This will make sure you understand what you get out of the box with Fabric and have the discussion with your security team!

Understanding Zero Trust security
In this session we will look at what Zero Trust principles are. Zero Trust is the modern way to apply security. It assumes a breach, verifies every user, and enforces least privilege, giving users access only to the private applications and resources they need. It no longer secures the perimeter (the network boundaries) which doesn't scale in the modern world. We will see how it applies to your Microsoft services like Microsoft Fabric too.
