SQL Server on Linux, Containers and Kubernetes

SQL Server now runs on Linux, Containers and Kubernetes. In this session you will get an overview of this environment, and explain the installation, management, and monitoring of each.

SQL Server has evolved from a pure RDBMS to a complete data platform, running on Microsoft Windows and now in Microsoft Azure. It now runs on the Linux platform, and also on Containers and Kubernetes - but when and why would you consider these platforms for SQL Server? And what are some differences to be aware of when managing, monitoring and using the system on those environments? In this session we'll cover these platforms with an overview, and explain the installation, management, and monitoring of each.

Ben has been working with SQL Server since SQL Server 6.5, mainly in the BI/Datawarehousing field. He is a Data Platform MVP, MCSE, MPP and a BimlHero Certified Expert. He is also a regular speaker at international events and an author.
