SQLBits’ annual call to seek out the brightest speaking stars and the most pressing industry topics of the moment is set to get underway this week as the 2025 call for speakers process opens.
It closely follows the announcement that SQLBits 2025 is set to take place at the ExCel London in June, a few months on from its usual slot in March, which has become increasingly filled with other industry events.
2025’s call for speakers is set to close on the 13th January and will focus on submissions for general sessions only. Training days, which now run every day alongside general sessions, will be curated by a team of industry experts and are set to be announced in January.
Speaking at SQLBits has become an annual pilgrimage for many of the best speakers in the industry and their quality is reflected in the event’s success and exceptional feedback received every year; in 2024 delegates gave SQLBits an outstanding net promoter score of 83.
Speakers are being invited to submit 100, 50 and 20 minute sessions for consideration in line with a range of topics chosen for 2025 that cover many of the challenges facing the modern data professional. Simon Sabin, co-founder of SQLBits, emphasizes the importance of delivering grounded and inspirational content at the conference:
“At SQLBits, we prioritise sessions rooted in real-world experience. Speakers should share insights born from personal investigation and practical application—content that delegates can’t simply read in documentation. Our goal is to inspire attendees by showcasing the art of the possible and showing how to turn vision into reality.”
SQLBits’ speaker line up in previous years has been truly world-class, including a significant proportion of speakers from industry giants Microsoft, using the conference as an opportunity to connect with the community and help delegates better understand their suite of products.
Anyone interested in submitting should visit our Speak page and follow the guidance found there; you have until the 13th January to get submissions in before they close for another year.
