Real-Time Intelligence Masterclass with Microsoft Fabric

Proposed session for SQLBits 2026

TL; DR

Today’s organizations can no longer rely on static reports or delayed insights. They need systems that react instantly to events and support real-time, data-driven decisions. This hands-on workshop is designed for data professionals who want to architect and implement modern, event-driven analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric. In this full-day, scenario-based lab, participants build an end-to-end real-time architecture using Microsoft Fabric Real-Time Intelligence. You will work with key components such as the Real-Time Hub, Eventstream, Eventhouse, Lakehouse, Real-Time Dashboards, Power BI, Activator, Digital Twin Builder, Data Agents, and Operational Agents. Step by step, you will create CDC-based data streams, ingest and process live event data, enrich streams with business logic, and manage schema drift in dynamic environments.

Session Details

Today’s organizations demand more than just periodic reports - they need continuous insights and real-time decision-making. This hands-on workshop is for data professionals looking to architect and build real-time, event-driven solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

Through a full-day, scenario-driven lab, participants will work with Real-Time Intelligence features including Real-Time hub, Eventstream, Eventhouse, Lakehouse, Real-Time Dashboard, Power BI, Activator, Digital Twin Builder, Data Agents and Operational Agents, building the end-to-end architecture. You’ll learn to create CDC streams, connect to and process streaming data, enrich with logic, handle schema drift, create digital twin models, develop real-time dashboards, set up an event-driven action flow with alerts, deploy data and operational agents, and apply ML model scoring. Attendees will also learn about cost and performance considerations of the architecture. Based on real customer scenarios, this masterclass equips attendees with practical skills to deliver real-time architectures that are scalable, actionable, and production-ready.

Prerequisites:
Laptop and unrestricted internet access (no VPN or firewall blocks).
