New to git? Version control is now essential for modern development, but getting started can feel overwhelming. This session provides a gentle introduction to git for developers making their first steps into version control. We'll cover the fundamental concepts that underpin git repositories (such as commits, branches, and merges) in clear, accessible language. You'll learn the essential commands and workflows needed for day-to-day development, from cloning a repository to collaborating with others.

We'll explore git through the lens of various tools, such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and PowerBI and provide practical tips for building good version control habits from the start. This talk will give you the foundational knowledge and confidence to start using git effectively in your daily work.
