Microsoft announced Fabric IQ in Public Preview at Ignite 2025. Since then, there have been a ton of questions on why does anyone need Fabric IQ. What is the role of ontology in my data environment? Do I really need it? I already have Power BI semantic models so what additional capabilities does Ontology provide?

Join this session to find answers to these questions. This session will begin with the concepts of semantic knowledge graphs, ontologies, GraphRAG. After going through the concepts, we will discuss a few real examples and close it with a demo of building and consuming ontologies in Microsoft Fabric.
