Service Dogs in the Cabin - Web Scraping Puppy Data with Microsoft Fabric - 1st Leg
Let's explore CSS Selectors so that we can do some web scraping in Power Query with Power BI, m code in Dataflows Gen 2, and PySpark Notebooks - All in the Azure cloud within Microsoft Fabric.
Sometimes you need to source data from the internet, but there isn't an API to access partner, industry, or public data available out on the web... and that's when you need to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty.
In this first leg of our two-leg journey, we will focus on understanding the physics of flight. We put on our Web Dev hat and look at how we make the data fly off the html of the webpages – Hint: The propellant is the CSS Selector.
After a Brief Stop-Over, Look Forward to the 2nd leg of our trip, where we will use 3 different Microsoft Fabric environments to perform our Web Scraping.
Make sure you make it to the next gate on time and watch for service dogs while boarding and exiting the plane.
