Thiago Carlos de Alencar

Working with SQL 14 years now, being almost five years as Sr Data & AI Engineer at Microsoft. I've worked in a mission-critical environment with a focus on architectures, integration approaches, building complex architectures, the deep technical experience of relational databases, migrations and delivery of quality root cause analysis (RCA). I've built up a range of skills and qualities over these years such as: educate customer, conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers, built deep relationships with technical individuals, collaborating effectively with internal, external stakeholders and partners at multiple levels, Knowledge of modern data processing techniques and systems in cloud technologies, Data and Architect design, Security and Troubleshooting. I am happy working on my own but also I like to work as part of a team I am a fast learner. I am the very positive and easygoing person to work with. I am good at planning and organizing, being able to deal with multiples tasks under pressure. I am truly passionate about technology and learning, always willing to get out of the comfort zone in order to get improved. I am also is actively involved in the SQL Server community through online Webcasts and In-Person events for SQL Pass in Brazil, Ireland, and Portugal. Azure(Data Engineer, Database Administrator & Fundamentals), MCSE Data Management Analytics, MS (Cloud Data Platform and IaaS in Azure), MCITP, MCT (7 years), MCTS, MCP and AWS Cloud Practitioner.

AI-Augmented Query Optimization: SQL Server 2025 Meets Fabric Self-Healing Data Platform

SQL Server 2025 introduces groundbreaking capabilities for performance optimization and observability, while Microsoft Fabric brings unified analytics and AI-driven insights. But how do we combine these innovations to build a truly resilient, self-healing data platform? In this session, we’ll explore AI-Augmented Query Optimization and Fabric Observability to tackle real-world challenges like unpredictable workloads, query regressions, and performance bottlenecks. You’ll learn: Who this is for: Data engineers, DBAs, and architects managing mission-critical SQL workloads in hybrid or cloud environments. What problem it solves: Eliminates manual troubleshooting by leveraging telemetry, ML notebooks, and AI-driven root-cause analysis. What you’ll take away: A practical blueprint for creating a Self-Healing SQL Fabric Dashboard that combines SQL telemetry with Fabric ML for automated anomaly detection and performance tuning. Expect live demos, POC architecture, and actionable strategies to future-proof your data platform with SQL Server 2025 and Microsoft Fabric.
