Dan Bulos is president and founder of Symmetry Corporation, a leading business intelligence consulting firm based in the San Francisco Bay area. Founded in 1986, Symmetry has been a Microsoft Gold Partner for 14 years and maintains a close relationship with both the SQL Server and Office BI development groups. In 2002 Microsoft licensed technology from Symmetry that was the foundation for the SQL Server Accelerator for BI (SSABI). During the initial creation of PerformancePoint, Dan was embedded with the Microsoft PPS development group for two years.
Dan sits on the Microsoft BI Partner Advisory Council and has been a member since the council was founded 15 years ago. He has over 30 years of experience consulting to both commercial clients and software vendors on the design and implementation of reporting and analytical applications. He has also provided strategic consulting on new product features and directions to leading software vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Hyperion, PeopleSoft, Business Objects, and others. He has been a featured speaker at Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse conferences in the U.S.
Dan is a recognized authority on analytical database technology and how to best use it to provide real-world solutions for business users. He created ADAPT™, the first database design methodology tailored specifically to analytical applications. He is also the original author of the On-Line Analytical Processing Council’s performance benchmark.
