From Commit to Production: Chapter one of your End-to-End CI/CD Story for Microsoft Fabric with ADO
50+50 minute session for SQLBits 2026Saturday - 25 Apr 2026 - 09:00 - 09:50 Room 2ATL; DR
Chapter one of an end-to-end CI/CD story for Microsoft Fabric using Azure DevOps. Starting with source control, you’ll see how Fabric Git integration, deployment pipelines, and Azure DevOps can work together.
Session Details
Delivering analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric doesn’t stop at development—getting changes safely from commit to production is just as critical.
In chapter one this session, we’ll walk through options to create an end-to-end CI/CD story for Microsoft Fabric using Azure DevOps. Starting with source control, you’ll see how Fabric Git integration, deployment pipelines, and Azure DevOps can work together to automate deployments across environments.
We’ll explore multiple CI/CD approaches available in Microsoft Fabric, including how and when to use built-in deployment pipelines versus orchestrating deployments with Azure DevOps. Along the way, we’ll demonstrate how to implement automated unit and integration testing for various Fabric items, including Data Pipelines and Power BI reports.
Topics covered include:
- Microsoft Fabric Git integration
- Implementing automated testing for Fabric items, including Power BI and Data Pipelines
All demonstrations will be performed using Azure DevOps and real-world scenarios.
By the end of chapter one of this session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of Microsoft Fabric Git integration and automated testing.
