SQL Server 2016 Performance and Scalability Improvements

In this session we will cover the core database engine improvements that make SQL Server 2016 run faster than previous releases. We will also cover some new performance related features and how Windows Server 2016 will improve SQL Server performance.

SQL Server Engineering has done some fundamental improvements in the SQL Server 2016 core database engine that fix some performance bottlenecks. These fixes make SQL Server 2016 just run faster after the upgrade. In addition to these fixes, SQL Server 2016 has some interesting new features that help the DBA to improve the performance and scalability of mission critical OLTP workloads. Windows Server 2016 has also some new features especially in the context of database storage architecture and new hardware support that benefit SQL Server 2016 workloads. This session will cover all these investments.
