Here are 5 tips for making the most of your first data conference…
Plan ahead:
Before the conference, discuss with yourself, and perhaps your boss, what your goal for this conference is, what would you like to take away from it? Certain knowledge? More connections, this one’s entirely your choice! You should also take some time to review the schedule and plan which sessions and training days you want to attend. Make a list of the ones that interest you the most and prioritize them based on your goals for attending the conference.
Networking:
One of the biggest benefits of attending a conference is the opportunity to meet and network with other professionals in your field, and at SQLBits we give you the chance to meet the makers of those who created the programs you use daily! This might seem obvious but with so much information being presented, it can be easy to forget important details and getting carried away in the flow of things. Make sure to take notes during sessions and training days so you can refer back to them later. It’s also a good idea to bring a notebook or laptop to take notes in (write/type in full and neatly so you can reflect later!)
