Data Vault, An introduction to the new datawarehouse supermodel

A new and fresh approach to datwarehousing that is agile, performant and easy to do. Data Vault is a new methodology that tries to overcome traditional problems that plagued traditional datawarehousing in the past.
The Kimball and Inmon approaches have dominated Data warehouse implementations for decades. Now a different approach for data warehousing is presenting itself. Data Vault was created by Dan Linstedt during the '90. In 2011, Data Vault is presenting itself to the large data warehousing and BI public, with its easy, agile, functional and flexible approach. Data Vault is a practical hands-on approach to creating your Central Enterprise Datawarehouse that does not rely on finding truth or performing complex ETL. It relies on a few basic premises and fleshes these out using its own modelling and loading approach. This session will give you an introduction to the of Data Vault basics.
