Dot.Net Data Access Fundamentals

This session covers a walk through of the dot.net SqlClient and the impact of various choices you can make when developing an application.

We will be covering topics such as connection pooling, data retrieval, parameterization, plan re-usage, prepared statements, optimization of RPC calls, the SqlClient classes and bulk methods. Included for download to play with afterwards is a sample application to demonstrate and benchmark key features.

The target audience is professionals from an application development background, who work with
SQL Server, or for SQL professionals who also work in the dot.net world.
