Introduction to System Center 2012 – Data Protection Manager
System Center 2012 – Data Protection Manager (DPM) enables disk-based and tape-based data protection and recovery for servers such as SQL Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint, virtual servers, file servers, and support for Windows desktops and laptops. DPM can also centrally manage system state and Bare Metal Recovery (BMR).
In this session we will look at how DPM can support the backup requirements for your whole IT estate and focus on SQL Server.
SP1 (launched on the day of writing this abstract) also brings cloud extensions allowing data to be protected locally on disk or tape and remotely to the Azure. We will look at how this additional functionality can make your backups more robust.
