SSIS Performance testing and optimisation using Hashing
There are several patterns in SSIS that are easy and super useful - once
you know them! In this session, you will learn how to create a performance
testing framework to run multiple versions of your package, how to run packages
in parallel, and a hashing algorithm based on FNV1a to vastly improve your load
In this session, you will learn a very basic pattern
for performance testing different techniques, and Mark will demonstrate the
performance impact of some such basics of sorted and unsorted recordsets, fast
parse and others using this pattern, and pull the results into PowerPivot.
Then, an alternate mechanism for creating IDs other
than using an identity will shown, based on using the FNV1a hashing mechanism
in a script component, and the various methods of handling collisions will be
Basic SSIS and T-SQL skills are required to follow the
session. Having used a script component previously will be advantageous, but
